I mean, I'm just asking...but it seems to me that if you can ingest the juice of 6 organic carrots, and two giant bunches of organic parsley, and two fine organic apples, and a jalapeƱo pepper, and a clove of garlic, and a couple small tomatoes, and some kale and some cilantro, and a lemon, and a fisful of alfalfa sprouts all in a couple glasses of juice - which I do twice a day - yer basically THERE on getting a huge percentage of your superfoods. I do this with a hydraulic juicer, and have a tribe about it here:
tribes.tribe.net/norwalkjuicer - if you want to get into hydraulic juicing -- but hey this would work almost as well with a centrifugal juicer so mainly I'm just saying to super-food-seekers: Don't forget to make raw juices a huge huge huge part of your diet: FRESH JUICES ARE SUPERFOODS!

  • Actually, juices are another western shortcut of the nutritional world that some studies show is not always so beneficial.

Our bodies are designed to ingest and digest over a period of time. It's not intended to instantly absorb nutrition, especially juices, because it is too hard on our systems. Diabetics can certainly attest to the problems of drinking juices. And doctors are showing us that the absorption of the amounts of nutrients, fruit and other sugars in the average western diet are the cause of many health problems, including diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Essentially cirrhosis of the liver. Our system is designed to absorb the nutrients and sugars from our diet over the period it takes to go through our digestive tract, not nearly instantaneously in the form of juice.

Of course I'm not suggesting here we shouldn't be drinking any juice at all. Just that like any other part of our diet, it should be consumed in moderation.
