I am so happy to find this group. I have been suffering from chronic fatigue and cough for years. I recently discovered a juice called MonaVie made from the Acai berry. It's full of antioxidants to combat the free radicals in your system. I have been taking the juice for three months now, and I am a new man. I have increased engery, I am not suffering from my usual allergies, and my chronic cough is improving.

Wed, June 13, 2007 - 7:52 PMwell, I dont know about that drink, but I have had acai berry in a drink made by, I think "Bossa Nova"....or something, but yea, they purported it had more than double the antioxidant power of blueberries (2nd highest, red wine was 3rd highest)
I am also glad to have found this tribe.....good food is SO ESSENTIAL AND OVERLOOKED BY SO MANY PEOPLE......
I love using antioxidants, and I feel generally healthy, but i cant say I notice a significant boost in any area of my health.....but I continue to use them, I do believe in antioxidants and their power to eliminate free radicals and dis-ease

I have even found some shisha flavored with acai berry.....although it reaps none of the health benefits, it tastes pretty good......but doesn't seem to be the highest quality shisha.....so...

just buy it, much cheaper then getting it in drinks
the company Sambazon sells it in frozen packages, available at health food stores etc

The way they process the berry means everything to its value. Just like the way you over certian foods you can take all the good nutritional values from the berry if it is not processed in the first 48 hours of harvesting the fruit. Also check the encyclopedia.
This is worth researching.

Wed, August 1, 2007 - 12:57 PMSlightly off-topic, but if you're interested in acai, I've heard that they can be grown easily indoors and in greenhouses. Saw some listed for sale on Top Tropicals and I'm very tempted to try growing one since I have very high ceilings and just enough room for one sturdy tropical in my living room.
